If you want strong and healthy teeth, you need to expose your teeth to fluoride on a regular basis. If you forget to do so, there is a chance tooth decay and enamel erosion can harm your teeth and alter your oral health. So, do your best to boost your fluoride exposure as much as possible. To help you do so, Dr. Nirmal Aujla and our dental team have some helpful tips and recommendations for you.

First, ask for a fluoride treatment at Jefferson Dental Health PC. When you come into our office for your professional cleaning appointment, our team will give you a professional fluoride treatment, which will typically come in the form of a foam, gel or varnish and it will likely be flavored. This will give your teeth the strength they need to survive.

Second, use fluoride oral hygiene products. It’s best to brush your teeth twice a day with fluoride toothpaste that has been approved by the American Dental Association. Also, rinse your mouth once a day with fluoride mouthwash. If you do so, your smile will be thoroughly cleaned and supported.

Third, use natural fluoride sources. You can find fluoride in specific bottles of water and in your tap water. Usually, cities provide fluoridated water for your health and convenience. Lastly, there are some foods you can eat that can help you increase your fluoride exposure. Those foods are pickles, carrots, spinach and tomatoes. For additional tips about fluoridated food, please talk to Dr. Nirmal Aujla.

Call our office at 315-788-7070 at your earliest convenience if you would like to further discuss fluoride or if you have any questions about fluoride in Watertown, New York.
